Bee forest instead of wasteland: “We for you” gets involved in tree planting campaign in Hofstetten

As part of the co-hosted corporate social responsibility project “We for you” by BENZ Tooling from Gengenbach and Club 82 e.V. from Haslach, a piece of forest in Hofstetten in the Kinzigtal was replanted in collaboration with myreforest GmbH. The aim of the campaign is to improve a damaged area of woodland by planting native tree species and enhancing biodiversity.

Together with myreforest GmbH and committed employees from the Dürr Group, to which BENZ Tooling belongs, the “We for you” project was able to make a valuable contribution to environmental and climate protection. On the outskirts of Hofstetten in the Kinzigtal valley, a former piece of fallow forest, which had previously suffered from drought, bark beetles and red rot as a spruce monoculture, was transformed into a sustainable and ecologically valuable “bee forest”.

A total of 400 seedlings – including wild pear, wild cherry and wild apple - and 25 oaks were planted with combined efforts. The aim of the project is to promote biodiversity, create habitats for insects and other forest animals and contribute to carbon sequestration.

Thanks to the great efforts of the 43 volunteers, the planting event was successfully completed after just a few hours. As a small thank you, everyone involved was offered a snack and a drink on site - an opportunity to exchange ideas and celebrate the joint commitment.

"The campaign was a complete success - not only from an ecological point of view, but also socially. It was amazing to see how children, families and people with and without disabilities worked as a team. Together we were able to make a piece of forest fit for the future again - that's exactly what ‘We for you’ stands for.”

Dunja Bruckner, Project Manager at BENZ Tooling

The “Wir für euch” team would like to thank everyone involved for their commitment – for nature, the region and a future worth living.
