BENZ GmbH Werkzeugsysteme (BENZ Tooling), a leading manufacturer of tooling systems, began construction work on a new site in the Kinzigpark in Gengenbach, Germany on February 6, 2023, with the traditional groundbreaking ceremony.
The investment sum for the production and office complex amounts to around 30 million euros. BENZ GmbH, a member of the Dürr group, is building a future-oriented campus with space for growth and new jobs on the 35,000 square meter site.
„The new BENZ building is currently one of the largest investments in the Dürr Group and underscores the importance of BENZ's business, which we intend to systematically expand in the coming years. The new site is part of this growth strategy: it will make the company even more efficient and offer employees a state-of-the-art working environment in which they can make optimum use of their expertise.“
Dietmar Heinrich, CFO Dürr AG
"BENZ Tooling is part of the Measuring and Process Systems Division of the Dürr Group. With its unique sustainability concept , which is applied in both construction and operation, the site will set standards for the entire division. "I am proud that we are building a new production site that offers state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and optimal working conditions for employees."
Jörg Brunke, Head of Division.
Martin Schreiber, Managing Director BENZ Tooling, emphasized the importance of the new location as a basis for further growth, innovation, efficiency as well as customer enthusiasm – in line with the motto: Rooted regionally, successful internationally.
„The new ONEnewBENZ campus is a milestone for us. The project is being planned from the inside out, which means that our employees are closely involved in the planning process. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved and supporting us.“
The new location will make an important contribution to the economic development of Gengenbach.
Mayor Thorsten Erny described the settlement of BENZ in the Kinzigpark as a great success for the anterior Kinzigtal: “I am pleased to welcome an attractive and internationally so successful growth company in Gengenbach, which will directly become the largest industrial employer in Gengenbach with modern and future-oriented jobs. This rewards the efforts of the city of Gengenbach to re-establish itself as a strong business location.”
The new building is associated with the relocation of BENZ Tooling from the current company location in Haslach to Gengenbach. Currently, around 300 employees work at the two plants in Haslach. In order to continue to meet the demands of the market, a total of 385 jobs are planned by 2025. The move to the new plant in Gengenbach is expected to take place in mid-2024.
